My week thru Instagram!

  Yesterday was BUSY... and nerve racking! My clients son and daughter-in-law came over for dinner... that I cooked and served. Not only was I nervous about meeting them for the first time but I was worried they wouldn't like my cooking.
I made Parmesan Pork Chops, Ranch Roasted Potatoes and Green Bean Schnitzel. With Tiramisu for dessert. They LOVED it all! Thank God.
I was really nervous about impressing them. I mean, this family eats off china dishes EVERY. SINGLE. DAY! I'm so glad it went well though.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  Anyways, it's that time again, and I know I only post once a week... but I'm working on a few other posts, I promise!
 I took a BUNCH of pictures this week. In fact, there are some on my camera that I haven't even uploaded yet. So for now, here is my week thru Instagram.
Tagged again
My week has been uneventful. I didn't do anything for the fourth, not even fireworks, since I had to work.
We did do a small BBQ with a couple of Will's friends last night. I had a few drinks and chatted with some friends online until way too late. Now I'm at work, which is where I will be all weekend.
~~~~

So I was tagged by my dear friend Camille, in a 11 things post, that I tagged HER in, back in January! You can find the original post here and since I have nothing better to post about, I'll do it again. ☺
Hopefully I can think of 11 new things!

1. I like to organize things; put them in order, in neat little piles, all where they go!
2. I LOVE summer but do not like the heat!
3. I'm HORRIBLE at sticking with things... like when I start doing new things (i.e. gym, new routine, ect) it lasts for a few weeks before I get bored with it or just forget.
4. I want to go back to school.
5. I'm SUPER homesick.
6. I hate leaving the house without at least powder and mascara/eyeliner on.  (unless it's to the gas station or somewhere REAL quick.)
7. I'm jealous of all my friends that are pregnant. (Although I'm nowhere NEAR ready to have a baby!)
8. I'm addicted to my phone and computer.
9. I can do the splits.
10. I like getting to know people, seeing what things we have in common.
11. I like answering questions. I have some surveys; here, here  & here, if ya wanna find out more random things!

Okay, that was hard... on to the easy part... answering her questions!

Camille wants to know:

1. Do you have any kids or pets? What is something cute or funny about each of them?

I have a ferret named Dizz. He will come over and lay on his back at your feet, like a dog would, and wait for you to rub his belly.

2. What's your favorite color, but you can't say a regular color... For instance, you can't say blue, you have to say cyan or turquoise or something. =P

Lime green, like this color!

3. What's your favorite desert?

Ooh, that's a hard one! Probably ice cream.

4. What's your lucky number?

Thirteen

5. What's one of your favorite movies?

Oh man, this is hard too! I have SO many that I love!

Armageddon is at the top.

6. What was one of your favorite toys as a kid?

Legos and barbies.

7. Where would you like to travel to?

The Bahamas

8. If you could get anything for your next birthday, what would it be?

Hmmm, I'm just gonna say to go home.

9. What do you think is gross?

Loose wet hair. I hate cleaning it outta the drain.... even if it IS mine!

10. What color are your eyes?

Bright Blue with yellow specks.

11. What is something you like about yourself?

My eyes and how caring I am.

Thanks for reading friends!
Hope y'all are enjoying your weekend!

Friday Letters

Photobucket
Dear Friday Letters, I've seen a few of my friends talking about you and I've wanted to join for awhile now. Today is my first link-up... so thank you!

Dear Mr. Police Officer, Thank you for not pulling me over even though I was speeding and on my phone when I went flying past you.

Dear Construction Workers, Thank you for all the hard work you are doing to make our city look/function better. I'm sorry you are stuck in the sweltering heat!

Dear Luke Bryan, Thank you for ALWAYS putting me in a good mood and making my heart happy. I LOVE you're voice! You're not bad to look at either! :)

Dear CO residents, My thoughts are with each and every one of you. I hope and pray that the fires cease soon and everyone stays safe!

Dear Vet, I can't believe how stupid you are. Did you even go to veterinary school? You told us last year that we had a healthy, active lil GIRL ferret. JSYK, you were wrong... SHE  is a BOY! Thanks a lot for making us think this for over a year. Now I have to get used to calling Dizz a boy. Ugh.

Dear Weather, I have a love/hate relationship with you. I LOVE summer... but 115  is a BIT too hot! Please go down about 35 degrees!

Dear Blog, you're due for a makeover and I am gonna work on that tomorrow!

Dear readers, I'm sorry I haven't been blogging much. I am still trying to find things to write about. I am thinking about the details of the link up I wanna host. {You can read about that here}. Thank you for being patient with me!

Thanks for reading!
Hope y'all are staying cool! Have a great weekend!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Hi loves! I'm so glad to be able to link up with an old favorite!

1. My bedtime routine includes; relaxing, maybe watch some TV, brush my teeth, plug in my phone.

2. I am excited for; our pool to open! It's been in the 90's already and it's only the beginning of May!

3. I can't stand; people that put up fronts. Just be yourself and honest!

4. My idea of relaxation would be; good music, a good book, maybe a drink, comfy bed/chair.

5. If I had an extra $50; I would use it for gas... or maybe a new shirt. My clothes are all too big! :)

6. The best thing about a bloggy friend is; they know how to guide this crazy space and can/will give you inspiration and love when you are missing it. Plus sometimes they turn out to be some of the best friends you'll ever have!

7. A recipe I've been dying to try is; I have a bunch of things I still wanna try!

Thanks for reading! Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Don't Worry, Be Happy!

My friend posted this article on Facebook the other day about 15 things we should give up in order to be happy. I think some of these are spot on!

"We hold on to so many things that cause us a great deal of pain, stress and suffering – and instead of letting them all go, instead of allowing ourselves to be stress free and happy – we cling on to them."

1. Give up your need to always be right. There are so many of us who can’t stand the idea of being wrong – wanting to always be right – even at the risk of ending great relationships or causing a great deal of stress and pain, for us and for others. It’s just not worth it. Whenever you feel the ‘urgent’ need to jump into a fight over who is right and who is wrong, ask yourself this question: “Would I rather be right, or would I rather be kind?” Wayne Dyer. What difference will that make? Is your ego really that big?

2. Give up your need for control.
Be willing to give up your need to always control everything that happens to you and around you – situations, events, people, etc. Whether they are loved ones, coworkers, or just strangers you meet on the street – just allow them to be. Allow everything and everyone to be just as they are and you will see how much better will that make you feel.

“By letting it go it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But when you try and try. The world is beyond winning.” Lao Tzu

3. Give up on blame. Give up on your need to blame others for what you have or don’t have, for what you feel or don’t feel. Stop giving your powers away and start taking responsibility for your life.

4. Give up your self-defeating self-talk. Oh my. How many people are hurting themselves because of their negative, polluted and repetitive self-defeating mindset? Don’t believe everything that your mind is telling you – especially if it’s negative and self-defeating. You are better than that.
“The mind is a superb instrument if used rightly. Used wrongly, however, it becomes very destructive.” Eckhart Tolle

5. Give up your limiting beliefs about what you can or cannot do, about what is possible or impossible. From now on, you are no longer going to allow your limiting beliefs to keep you stuck in the wrong place. Spread your wings and fly!
“A belief is not an idea held by the mind, it is an idea that holds the mind” Elly Roselle

6. Give up complainingGive up your constant need to complain about those many, many, maaany things – people, situations, events that make you unhappy, sad and depressed. Nobody can make you unhappy, no situation can make you sad or miserable unless you allow it to. It’s not the situation that triggers those feelings in you, but how you choose to look at it. Never underestimate the power of positive thinking.

7. Give up the luxury of criticism. Give up your need to criticize things, events or people that are different than you. We are all different, yet we are all the same. We all want to be happy, we all want to love and be loved and we all want to be understood. We all want something, and something is wished by us all.

8. Give up your need to impress others. Stop trying so hard to be something that you’re not just to make others like you. It doesn’t work this way. The moment you stop trying so hard to be something that you’re not, the moment you take of all your masks, the moment you accept and embrace the real you, you will find people will be drawn to you, effortlessly.

9. Give up your resistance to change. Change is good. Change will help you move from A to B. Change will help you make improvements in your life and also the lives of those around you. Follow your bliss, embrace change – don’t resist it.
“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls”
Joseph Campbell

10. Give up labels. Stop labeling those things, people or events that you don’t understand as being weird or different and try opening your mind, little by little. Minds only work when open. “The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don’t know anything about.” Wayne Dyer

11. Give up on your fears. Fear is just an illusion, it doesn’t exist – you created it. It’s all in your mind. Correct the inside and the outside will fall into place.
“The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.”
 Franklin D. Roosevelt

12. Give up your excuses. Send them packing and tell them they’re fired. You no longer need them. A lot of times we limit ourselves because of the many excuses we use. Instead of growing and working on improving ourselves and our lives, we get stuck, lying to ourselves, using all kind of excuses – excuses that 99.9% of the time are not even real.

13. Give up the past. I know, I know. It’s hard. Especially when the past looks so much better than the present and the future looks so frightening, but you have to take into consideration the fact that the present moment is all you have and all you will ever have. The past you are now longing for – the past that you are now dreaming about – was ignored by you when it was present. Stop deluding yourself. Be present in everything you do and enjoy life. After all life is a journey not a destination. Have a clear vision for the future, prepare yourself, but always be present in the now.

14. Give up attachment. This is a concept that, for most of us is so hard to grasp and I have to tell you that it was for me too, (it still is) but it’s not something impossible. You get better and better at with time and practice. The moment you detach yourself from all things, (and that doesn’t mean you give up your love for them – because love and attachment have nothing to do with one another,  attachment comes from a place of fear, while love… well, real love is pure, kind, and self less, where there is love there can’t be fear, and because of that, attachment and love cannot coexist) you become so peaceful, so tolerant, so kind, and so serene. You will get to a place where you will be able to understand all things without even trying. A state beyond words.

15. Give up living your life to other people’s expectations. Way too many people are living a life that is not theirs to live. They live their lives according to what others think is best for them, they live their lives according to what their parents think is best for them, to what their friends, their enemies and their teachers, their government and the media think is best for them. They ignore their inner voice, that inner calling. They are so busy with pleasing everybody, with living up to other people’s expectations, that they lose control over their lives. They forget what makes them happy, what they want, what they need….and eventually they forget about themselves.  You have one life – this one right now – you must live it, own it, and especially don’t let other people’s opinions distract you from your path.

What other things do you think we need to "give up" in order to be happier?

Tell Me About Yourself Award!

The 7 things about me that you may not know:

1} I did strength training in high school for 3 years. I am the second strongest girl in the history of my H.S. I can squat 365 pounds!

2} I have baby fever so bad! I cannot wait to have kids! Maybe that's why just about all the blogs I follow are written by mommies?

3} I went to college to become a Medical Assistant. I completed all my classes, including my externship, except for accounting. I failed it online and they had just made the policy that if you failed a class you had to pay outta pocket to retake it, and I couldn't afford it, so I never graduated. Although I have all my skills and know what I'm doing.

4} I didn't get my permit until I was 21 and my license until I was 24. I am now 25.

5} I listen to all kinds of music but I love country the most. I can more than likely tell you the name of a song and the artist before they even start singing.

6} I am a horrible blogger. I go weeks, if not longer, between posts. I even posted about needing to be a Better BloggerI believe that I even made my blog and didn't have a post up for like a week afterwards.

7} I cannot take a compliment. I always deny it when someone says I look nice or whatnot. I have always struggled with my weight and hate the way I look.

The 7 bloggers  I am nominating:

1} Allie over at  A girl named [Allie]

2} Crystal over at  Fighting MS one day at a time

3} Jesslyn over at  Jesslyn Amber

4} Jess over at  Notes of life and love

5} Kir over at  The Kir Corner

6} Sarah over at OhBobarah's Portlandia

7} Jessica over at  Spit up chronicles

Tell me if you'd rather not be nominated and I'll remove you immediately. :)

I really missed them

  This is another post from my trip home. I know it's WAY late, since I went over a month ago, but I suck.

*******

  In the days following my  Night Out I basically just hung out with my family and saw a few friends. I really wish that I could've seen more of them but there wasn't enough time or our schedules didn't mesh.

This picture is great because is it a newer version of an old favorite. Teresa and Buddha are two of my favorite people. She is like an older sister to me, I've known her since I was 14. Her kids are like my nieces and nephew. Buddha is my GBF {Gay Best Friend}, He is like my other half. I'd be lost without these two.

  One of the days, Christina and Teresa came to pick me up to go find something to do. We ended up running into one of our long time friends; Keegan, and we took a bunch of silly pictures together.

1} Keegan being a poser.
2} Keegan, Christina & Teresa.

3} Teresa being a goof.
4} The four of us.

 1} Teresa & Nevaeh being silly in the car.
2} Keegan & I.

  The next day my cousin and I met up with Jesse and Josh to go to the park by my house. It was beautiful outside!

Krinkle & the boys. Jesse on the tire swing. Krinkle on the swing. Krinkle upside down.

  I got to go see my dear friend Chelsea and her adorable little boy Landon. I love his curly hair!

1} His cheeser face.  2} Chels.  3}He was being shy.  4} I love this pic! He is so stinkin cute!

1} Chelsea and I.  2} We were taking pictures of each other.

  I got to spend some time with my friend Sarah and her cute son Killian. My mama used to watch him, so he's like my nephew too.

Killian & I. His serious face. Monkey face. Sarah & I.

  I also got to see my {gay} friend Travis. He and I grew up in the same neighborhood, he lived on the street behind me. We never hung out until we were older though. I love him!

His green wall rocks my socks! :)

  The same day I hung out with Travis I ended up seeing my friend Chase at my cousin's work. We hung out while I waited for her to get off because she was coming to my house that night. Him and I have been friends for like 5 years now and STILL don't have pictures together.. but isn't he cute?

That night my cousin, Buddha, My friend Steph, my sister, her friend and I hung out at my house and played a bunch of games and had a few drinks.

1} My sissy, Buddha & I.
2} My new favorite drink! Tastes like Jack & coke.

 3} Steph.
 4} Krinkle, Buddha and I.

That's it for this post, but I have a few more in mind. {Sorry, I took a TON of pictures.}

Thanks for reading friends!
